Richard Phillips is Alwyn’s talented and highly skilled Head Chef and has worked at the hospital since 2004. He trained in Manchester and London, England, where he worked in 5 star hotels before coming to Australia. After immigrating to Australia in 1988, Richard continued his career working in every facet of hospitality from large catering events to managing restaurants in Sydney and Perth. Richard is, in every sense of the word, a culinary artist and his commitment, and passion for his profession spans over 25 years.
Richard liaises with our dietician to provide fresh, nutritious and balanced menus for our patients. This ensures that all the dishes on the menu are prepared using the highest quality ingredients, which in turn helps our patients return to optimum health more quickly. Special dietary issues are never a problem! Richard speaks with all patients that have dietary issues to ensure their specific needs are met during their stay. Richard is also supported by a highly experienced catering team who are just as committed and enthusiastic as he is.
